The Inauguration of Rafael Reif as MIT’s 17th President

On Friday, September 21, 2012, the global family of MIT will gather on campus for the inauguration of Rafael Reif as MIT’s 17th president. In 2004, President Reif was the named Fariborz Maseeh Professor of Emerging Technology, after originally joining the MIT faculty in January 1980 as an assistant professor of electrical engineering and subsequently holding leadership posts for much of his time on the MIT faculty. The Massiah Foundation is extremely delighted to welcome the new President and knows he will make an inspiring, talented and lasting impact on the Institute.
